Residential Care Home for the Elderly

facilities

If you would like to have a meal with your loved one, we’re happy to arrange this in advance.

care types

Caring for a loved one can be immensely rewarding but it can also be very tiring on the family. At Southcare Homes we provide short stays of a few days or longer, enough time to provide a short respite for a carer to “recharge the batteries”.

We offer 24-hour care for all residents. A unique personal care plan is prepared for each resident and it is reviewed regularly. All information, data and records relating to residents remains confidential and is protected. Visits to the dentist, optician and physiotherapist are arranged when required.

Palliative care, or end of life care, is care where a recovery from illness is not expected. At Southcare Homes we understand how upsetting this final stage of life can be for everyone. We offer compassionate and sensitive care.

Choosing a care home for someone with dementia is always difficult. At Southcare Homes, we keep finding ways to make our homes more dementia-friendly and can help you by sharing our experience, built up over a generation.

meet the manager

Hello, I'm Mandy

Mandy Marsh
Care Home Manager
Lime Tree House Residential Home

Technically, my career in care started while I was a hairdresser. I offered to do a client’s hair at her home and began helping her with shopping and outings because her husband was housebound. One day she said to me, “you should become a nurse.” I smiled to myself and thought that would never happen.

Three children later, however, that’s exactly what I did! I qualified as a registered nurse and worked at two hospitals for 15 years. I later worked in a nursing home as a Clinical Manager and was part of a new management team there. I helped to turn around the inadequate rating which was a rewarding challenge. I have since worked in four homes either as Deputy Manager or Registered Manager for both large companies as well as for a private home.

Family means a lot to me. I now have four grandchildren and they are my world. I also love meeting people and getting to know them. I am looking forward to my new post at Lime Tree House, it has a lovely feeling about it when you step in. The staff have been very friendly and welcoming, and it’s been wonderful getting to know the residents. What a great start!

our care

Our dedicated activities coordinator creates fun, meaningful activities for our residents and organises regular entertainment evenings. Relatives and guests are also welcome to join in the fun.

We arrange monthly Oomph! trips and other outings so residents and their families can share a day out together. Our residents particularly enjoy our monthly trips to The Depot Cinema, where the movies are brought to life!

We strive to keep our home immaculate and have a maintenance worker on-hand to keep the home running smoothly

We’ll keep you on your toes with regular chiropody sessions and ensure you look your best with our regular hair stylist

our rating

All of our homes are independently assessed by the Care Quality Commission which regulates the standards of health and social care in care homes.

Our residents’ care and well-being is of primary importance to all of us at Lime Tree. We value and take to heart the feedback given to us by the CQC and have already put in much effort to improve things since the inspection in July (published in August 2019). We look forward to welcoming the CQC back to our home soon so they can see how much positive changes we’ve made.

what makes us special

Making memories at the movies.

Lime Tree benefits from a bus stop right outside the home allowing for many trips out for our residents. This includes our monthly trip to The Depot Cinema in Lewes, which brings the flicks to life and is popular among our residents.
