If you would like to have a meal with your loved one, we’re happy to arrange this in advance.
Caring for a loved one can be immensely rewarding but it can also be very tiring on the family. At Southcare Homes we provide short stays of a few days or longer, enough time to provide a short respite for a carer to “recharge the batteries”.
We offer 24-hour care for all residents. A unique personal care plan is prepared for each resident and it is reviewed regularly. All information, data and records relating to residents remains confidential and is protected. Visits to the dentist, optician and physiotherapist are arranged when required.
Palliative care, or end of life care, is care where a recovery from illness is not expected. At Southcare Homes we understand how upsetting this final stage of life can be for everyone. We offer compassionate and sensitive care.
Choosing a care home for someone with dementia is always difficult. At Southcare Homes, we keep finding ways to make our homes more dementia-friendly and can help you by sharing our experience, built up over a generation.
We are proud of our recent COVID-19 Assessment Report from CQC, acknowledging our incredible ” staff team, their compassion and bravery” and recognising the hard work and effort we put in each day to keep our residents safe and healthy.
A home for life with a joyous atmosphere.
Lime Tree House is a residential care home, offering gorgeous views out across the delightful village of Ringmer, East Sussex. It’s close proximity to the historic and popular cobble-stone streets of Lewes, makes its an ideal spot for your new home.
Our sunny home in Ringmer has 30 rooms, all with en-suite facilities. There is a ground and first floor, accessible via the passenger lift, giving residents full access to the home. Every room is fully furnished and there is the added option to personalise your space and have your own decor and furniture.
Lime Tree has two lounge areas where residents can socialise, enjoy activities and entertainment and relax. One leads into the large garden via wood decking. Guests are always welcome to spend time with their relatives here.
Lime Tree’s separate dining area is the perfect place to tuck into the range of nutritious meals and various menu options available. Menus can be easily adjusted to suit everyone’s tastes.
Relax and take in some sunshine in our large, sunny garden, with a maintained lawn accessed via timber decking.
All our of our friendly nurses and care teams are on hand ready to help out our residents with any need they have.
Our care plans are individually created to meet the needs of all of our individuals and their families.
Not a morning person? That’s fine with us. Residents can decide for themselves when they want to get up, go to bed and eat their evening meals.
Our in-house chef personally plans the weekly menus and prepares tasty meals on a daily basis for our residents.
Our dedicated activities coordinator creates fun, meaningful activities for our residents and organises regular entertainment evenings. Relatives and guests are also welcome to join in the fun.
We arrange monthly Oomph! trips and other outings so residents and their families can share a day out together. Our residents particularly enjoy our monthly trips to The Depot Cinema, where the movies are brought to life!
We strive to keep our home immaculate and have a maintenance worker on-hand to keep the home running smoothly
We’ll keep you on your toes with regular chiropody sessions and ensure you look your best with our regular hair stylist
All of our homes are independently assessed by the Care Quality Commission which regulates the standards of health and social care in care homes.
Our residents’ care and well-being is of primary importance to all of us at Lime Tree. We value and take to heart the feedback given to us by the CQC and have already put in much effort to improve things since the inspection in July (published in August 2019). We look forward to welcoming the CQC back to our home soon so they can see how much positive changes we’ve made.
Hello, I'm Julie

Lime Tree House Residential Home
I come to Lime Tree House with over 30 years’ experience in the care sector. I have worked in various areas including teaching Health and Social Care at FE colleges in Sussex as well as being a Registered care Home Manager in Wales and also here in Sussex. I come from a family of medical professionals, my grandmother was a nurse and my mother was part of the Brighton and Hove Queens District nurses. My daughter is also studying at Brighton University to become a nurse. I am passionate and proactive about providing a high quality care service for the residents at Lime Tree House and look forward to meeting you all soon. Southcare Homes have the same ethics and beliefs that I feel are important to me and how I like to work. At Lime Tree , I hope to achieve an outstanding provision of service and a happy home ! I am really looking forward to working alongside staff residents and families and friends.
Making memories at the movies.
Lime Tree benefits from a bus stop right outside the home allowing for many trips out for our residents. This includes our monthly trip to The Depot Cinema in Lewes, which brings the flicks to life and is popular among our residents.
