We offer 24-hour care for all residents with Registered General Nurses present at all times. A unique personal care plan is prepared for each resident and it is reviewed regularly. All information, data and records relating to residents remains confidential and is protected. Visits to the dentist, optician and physiotherapist are arranged when required.
Palliative care, or end of life care, is care where a recovery from illness is not expected. At Southcare Homes we understand how upsetting this final stage of life can be for everyone. We offer compassionate and sensitive care.
Choosing a care home for someone with dementia is always difficult. At Southcare Homes, we keep finding ways to make our homes more dementia-friendly and can help you by sharing our experience, built up over a generation.

There is a warmth in this nursing home that I didn't experience in any of the other homes... You can tell by the way the staff interact with the residents that they truly care about them... everyone has become part of my extended family."

Hello, I'm Elaine
Elaine Payne
Registered Nursing Care Home Manager
Freshford Cottage Nursing Home
My interest in the care sector began in my early teens, when I cared for my elderly grandmother. At sixteen, my career in Health & Social Care began when I became a carer in a home in Worthing. I qualified as a RGN in 2004, specialising in elderly care, having gained experience in acute medical wards and in the community.
At Freshford Cottage, my main priority is that our residents continue to receive person-centred care tailored to their unique wishes and needs. This is strongly aligned to the company values. I aim to bring my wealth of experience to this role together with my energy, drive, and passion for elderly care. I also have the support of a fantastic team and together we will help our residents live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. Hopefully with the aim of establishing Freshford Cottage as an outstanding provider of residential, nursing, and dementia care.
