Caring for a loved one can be immensely rewarding but it can also be very tiring on the family. At Southcare Homes we provide short stays of a few days or longer, enough time to provide a short respite for a carer to “recharge the batteries”.
We offer 24-hour care for all residents. A unique personal care plan is prepared for each resident and it is reviewed regularly. All information, data and records relating to residents remains confidential and is protected. Visits to the dentist, optician and physiotherapist are arranged when required.
Palliative care, or end of life care, is care where a recovery from illness is not expected. At Southcare Homes we understand how upsetting this final stage of life can be for everyone. We offer compassionate and sensitive care.
Choosing a care home for someone with dementia is always difficult. At Southcare Homes, we keep finding ways to make our homes more dementia-friendly and can help you by sharing our experience, built up over a generation. Please get in touch with us to see how we can help you.

A place where cosiness & tranquillity come together.
Parkside Lodge has been providing person-centred, genuine residential care for over 20 years. With carefully-maintained gardens and a pleasantly-decorated interior, this cosy 18-bed care home really is home from home. Its close proximity to Victoria Park and with stunning views of the South Downs, makes it the perfect spot for our residents to socialise, relax and enjoy life to the full.
Our cosy home in Worthing has 18 rooms – 17 single rooms across three floors and 1 double room on the second floor, all accessible via the passenger lift. Every room is fully furnished and there is the added option to personalise your space and have your own decor and furniture.
Parkside Lodge has two lounge areas where residents can socialise, enjoy activities and entertainment or simply relax. Guests are always welcome to spend time with their relatives here.
Our spacious dining area is the perfect place to tuck into the wide range of nutritious meals and various menu options available. Menus can be easily adjusted to suit everyone’s tastes.
Relax and take in some sunshine in our large, sunny garden, with a maintained lawn and beautiful trees that keep our garden lush and colourful all through the year.
Our residents have their very own cinema room where we love to go and share some popcorn with each other. In this peaceful, 1920s-style room, our residents can reminisce over some golden oldies or laugh together over some comedy classics. The choice is theirs.
All our of our friendly nurses and care teams are on hand ready to help out our residents with any need they have.
Our care plans are individually created to meet the needs of all of our individuals and their families.
Not a morning person? That’s fine with us. Residents can decide for themselves when they want to get up, go to bed and eat their evening meals.
Our in-house chef personally plans the weekly menus and prepares tasty meals on a daily basis for our residents.
Our dedicated activities coordinator creates fun, meaningful activities for our residents and organises regular entertainment evenings. Relatives and guests are also welcome to join in the fun.
We arrange monthly Oomph! trips and other outings so residents and their families can share a day out together. Our residents particularly enjoy our monthly trips to The Depot Cinema, where the movies are brought to life!
We strive to keep our home immaculate and have a maintenance worker on-hand to keep the home running smoothly
We’ll keep you on your toes with regular chiropody sessions and ensure you look your best with our regular hair stylist
All of our homes are independently assessed by the Care Quality Commission which regulates the standards of health and social care in care homes.
Hello, I'm Kristie
Registered Care Home Manager
Parkside Lodge Residential Home
My journey into care started with my grandmother years ago. She was a nurse and I will always remember her taking so much pride in her job. I joined the care sector in 2005, working in a nursing home as a carer. I did my NVQ 2 and 3 at my local hospital and spent six years working in the hospital stroke ward. I soon was assigned champion for the older ones in the ward and was involved as much as possible. After six years, I wanted to try something new. It was at that point that I had the opportunity to complete my NVQ5 and here I am. I love working at Parkside Lodge. It has a very homely atmosphere and the staff have been amazing and supportive at helping me settle in here. I am so proud to be able to do things for the residents, talking with them and spending time with them and seeing them do things that they haven’t done in a while is a real joy. When I see them happy, having a good time and being looked after properly, I’m happy.
Time-travelling with the talkies.
Our residents can step back in time when they enter our vintage 1920s-themed cinema room, opened by the Deputy Mayor of Worthing last year. Residents love spending time in here, watching classics old and new!
